Data labels it is important to retain information regarding each specimen. Data labels are
printed in sheets for cutting out and attaching to the pin underneath each specimen. They are printed
in very small letters to your own design, usually four lines is sufficient, showing
for example
the locality, county, date and name. Alternatively general labels can be printed with just the year and the name
leaving space for the locality. Let us have your exact requirement or ask for samples. Per 500 or 1000

Preservatives for collections |
|
All insect collections need some protection against Museum beetle and mites etc.
Naphthalene is suitable for this purpose and
will prevent any new attack, but will not kill Museum beetle after an infestation has started. All reference collections should be inspected regularly
for infestation. It is very difficult to kill museum beetle eggs although this can be done with care by giving each specimen a few seconds in
a microwave oven (less the pin!), or 3 days in a deep freezer. |

Stainless steel headless pins |
|
Our own make, suitable not only for micros but macros and other orders. These
headless pins make collections very tidy as there are no ugly pin-heads showing.
Care should be taken when using headless pins as the stainless steel is very springy and we
recommend that forceps be used.
The diameter of headless pins has always been in inches and the length in mm.
Supplied in packs of 100.
Please ask for a sample card. |
